  Just curious--how many Dubs/ex-Dubs have come to JWD in the last year?

  i have the sense that we are seeing a lot more open dissent on jwd with dubs who are still in the borg or fading.. what do you guys think?.

  how many have recently left or are in the process of leaving as a result of jwd or other related sites that expose the borg?.

  what was the final straw that did it?.

  After clicking a few links from Wikipedia I realised that there were some awesome places that could really help me find the articles I was after

  Wikipedia is great, dubs don't feel guilt about reading it because it's not an apostate site but it's where I first learned of Ray Franz. Lots are probably coming here via Wikipedia.

  I've been here 3 months. Mentallly out, physically in - for family. I have been lurking for a few months, it was the torrent of newbies joining that encouraged me to speak up.

  much trouble... or, things to do at the mtg that will raise eyebrows but won't get you into to much trouble.. i've been thinking about this since i still go.

  i'm surprised at how much a person can get away with if they are in a hall that they have no family in that particular kingdom hall.... at the memorial i put on so much dark eye make-up i was shocked my husband didn't say anything walking out the door.

  instead, i got compliments, lol, not exactly what i planned on.... one of my friends who faded went to the memorial and she had a pretty low cut shirt on.

  I wear fishnets and skirts on the short side already.

  A denim skirt for sisters. A jacket and trousers that don't match for brothers. This used to be acceptable but not any more.

  The end of the end- your thoughts?

  so what does everyone think of the wt info from the past year comparing the time of the end to israel's escape from egypt?

  it said (paraphrasing):"the wt may even give specific instructions that seem to lead us into the face of danger just as the israelites were led to the red sea with their enemies pursuing them from the other side.

  " also what do you think of the past two year texts- "obey god as ruler rather than men" and "stand firm and see the salvation of jehovah"?

  I agree with much of what OTWO said. I can see them instructing the r&f to sell their property like the WBTS has in Brooklyn (cue "Valueless Things" WT in April) to fund the last push of the preaching work. I can see them instructing the r&f to do illegal things that will result in thousands being imprisoned and then they will say "look at the persecution, the end is here!" In one way I think they would use moves like this to separate the wheat from the weeds, if you like. Closet apostates are hardly likely to obey.

  JW's and an economic crisis...

  i was thinking the other day, during the economic crisis of the 1930's the r&f witnesses probably thought armageddon was imminent and didn't do enough to ensure their physical wellbeing.

  now supposing there was an economic crisis to take place now (the odds are pretty good from what i'm hearing).

  how many dubs will foolishly sit on their backsides waiting for jehovah to intervene, or worse still, look to the society to provide for them?

  they ask me to read the bible and asked me a couple of questions.

  If you gave the exact day of your appoitment you might be tracked down within a short period.

  Quite. He's blown his cover before he's begun. Make the most of it pal, it won't be for long. The society monitors this site. How many elders do you think were appointed the same week as you? All they have to do is match that with a few specifics you may have given in past posts and you are I.D'ed.

  I think the last picture is taken in the top floor lounge of The Towers building where most of the GB have their penthouses. Real nice set-up, those doors open up onto a large balcony with views to Manhattan. Nice grand piano. I thought Bethelites signed a vow of poverty.

  new brochure

  at tonights meeting a new brochure was released along with the question box in the km regarding how to dress when visiting bethel/branch homes.

  they, of course, said to dress like you do at th meetings.

  the brochure is 4 pages with color photo illustations of what not to wear and what is appropriate.

  I must have missed the scripture that says sisters can't wear trousers.

  There was a subtle comment in the KM article that said this sort of attire is inappropriate "at any time". I ain't spending all week in a skirt for no one.
